U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on the Affordable Care Act

I have been following the of health care reform for many years as I am sure many of you have. I know that the State of Washington will continue to implement the Affordable Care Act as required, and help the citizens of our state navigate the evolving health insurance marketplace.
While the law expands coverage to millions of Americans, it does not meaningfully address the unsustainable rise in health care costs. It also includes a premium tax that I don't like because it increases the cost of coverage for consumers and employers.
I will continue to follow up with policymakers on both sides of the aisle and voice my opinion to ensure affordability, security and choice.
I agree that some of the provisions are just what we need and every politician so far tried to avoid stepping into this complicated issue as to not alienate constituents. Time will tell how this will evolve and change.
For now we have a ruling.
