Life Insurance Awareness Month spokesperson

This too is just another one of what I would call life stories that relates to money and it's effects on families. Life insurance like most insurance many be viewed as another costly expense that we have to face but many times we forget the human factor.
Here's one story to relate to. It's not one of mine, however it is one experienced by many families.

Buddy Valastro, master baker and reality TV star, is best known for his amazing confectionary masterpieces. Although his TV show highlights the more humorous aspects of the day-to-day life of running a successful business, his road to success was a difficult and painful one. Growing up, Buddy’s dream was to work alongside his father to make the family bakery a household name. However, his father was diagnosed with lung cancer on Buddy’s 17th birthday, and was gone just three weeks later. Buddy’s father was only 54 years old, and he did not have life insurance. To keep the business afloat, Buddy dropped out of high school and worked 12- to 18-hour days, six days a week. At 17, Buddy had many days when he did not feel ready to be in charge of the family business. He had 30 employees who were counting on him. It was a huge amount of pressure, but he did what he had to do to succeed.

As this year’s Life Insurance Awareness Month spokesperson, Buddy shares his story with the public. He talks about how different things could have been if his father had owned life insurance. He could have hired more staff, worried less and had time to grieve. Most 17 year olds would not have been able to accomplish what Buddy managed to do. He is definitely an exceptional person. Buddy, now married with four children, owns plenty of life insurance to ensure that his loved ones will never have to struggle the way he did to survive.
